16 years of existence

Dear M.,

i actually thought about this one for a short while. Should i give this letter to someone I trust and can guarantee they'll give it to you? Should I hide it somewhere behind the closet and wait for that one time in a decade when you'll actually gonna clean your room extensively and then find it? Should I leave it in the memory box with all my journals? If I did, you wouldn't find this on your birthday. You would find this months later. Or a year. I know this because I know your habits, but I hope you're going to change some of them. I'm writing this on a summer evening in your bedroom while mosquitoes are attacking. I'm sure you'll have tons of more evenings like this in the future, no doubt. I also don't doubt you're going to keep fooling around and making some more fun and hard-to-explain memories cause they're usually the best ones. You would know, wouldn't you? And you've made it. 16 years (of existence)... even tho you still behave like a twelve year old. I'm sure you'll get rid of that habit. At least I hope so or else college is gonna be really awkward & weird.

From a fifth grader who was crazy about Nickelodeon cartoons (B), to a vampire fiction fan girl who loves Azealia Banks and rap (Bg), and then finally to the one I am today (Zg). I don't know how I'm going to call this phase yet.

16 is one of the most important birthdays to celebrate. Why? I have no idea, but I intend to keep all the friends I have now for the rest of my life. I want that. I'll do that. So I can come to their weddings and talk about that fail they had back in 2013... because it's going to just another story in the row you can laugh about. And that's great. I love those stories. So my resolutions consist of stop being so messy, get rid of some the bad habits, stay in touch with all of my present friends and to keep growing.

I have to say, these years have been quite a journey. Unpredictable, magical and cool. This is another year in the row, but I hope it will bring me some joy, fun and a lot of laughter.
